About Bournemouth
Bournemouth spreads along the coastline forming one of the most picturesque British seaside resorts. It was founded in 1811 by wealthy Victorians who started building their stylish villas here. Bournemouth was purposely built as a resort. It emerged on a heath land and quickly embellished the desert landscapes. Throughout the 19th century the resort was slowly gaining power as a privileged leisure center with increasing variety of entertainment and accommodation opportunities. Today the town has kept some of its serenity and has grown into a verdant paradise in the midst of splendid gardens and flower scents. And the chines that once looked a bit frightening, proudly spreads its stunning silhouette of narrow ravines along the coastline. Breath-taking views are revealed from the Undercliff, the famous waterfront promenade.
